Dear Readers,

The first issue of Aqua Feeds: Formulation & Beyond as a full-fledged magazine is in your hands. The title had a previous life as a newsletter that Dr. Victor Suresh used to edit and publish. The broad welcome accorded to it by many in the industry prompted us to upgrade it into a quarterly magazine.

There are many magazines catering to the aquaculture and feed industry, yet we feel that there is a need for a dedicated magazine that can effectively meet the information needs of knowledge workers in the aqua feed industry. Aquatic animal nutrition is now an advanced science with a dedicated scientific journal and at least another 100 papers published in other leading scientific journals. There are two biannual conferences and many sessions within other conferences dedicated to aquaculture nutrition and feeds. This explosion in primary scientific literature needs to be channeled into a format that is easily readable and usable by the feed industry. We hope to fulfill this need. The first issue that is in your hands gives you a glimpse of what we aim to accomplish in terms of content and delivery. We rely on you to grow the magazine further to meet your information needs. Every feedback that you send us would be immensely appreciated and put to use.
