Web Summary

Post Conditioners or as some prefer to call them “Post Pellet Cookers” have been in use in shrimp feed mills in the Eastern hemisphere for quite some time. These units have slowly made their way into the Western hemisphere in the last 5 years where it has been recognized to improve pellet water stability even for extruded feeds. A few years ago post conditioning was regarded as a “trade secret” but feed manufacturers have learned about it and are implementing them widely. This article explains the post-conditioning process in simple terms and goes into the methodology to size and select post conditioners.

This article has 4 figures and 1 table.
