Profile

Dr. Borlongan is a chemist-turned fish nutritionist with an illustrious career track record. After an undergraduate degree in Chemistry in 1977, she started as a lab analyst at South East Asia’s premier fisheries institution, SEAFDEC in the Philippines and quickly rose through the ranks to become a Scientist. She also earned a Master’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Philippines and a Ph.D. in Fish Nutrition at the Tokyo University of Fisheries while on the job. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on various nutrition topics and is an international expert on milkfish nutrition.
