Profile

Dr. Viswanath Kiron received his Ph.D. in Marine Science from the Cochin University of Science and Technology in 1984. He obtained another Ph.D. in Fisheries Science from the Tokyo University of Fisheries. Until his recent relocation, he worked at the Tokyo University of Fisheries along with the renowned fish nutritionist Takeshi Watanabe for over a decade. Currently, he is a Professor at the Bodø University College in northern Norway. His research efforts are directed towards promoting health through better nutrition for farmed aquatic species. He is also interested in bioactive compounds and has been flagging the concept of ‘functional aqua feeds’.
